About Vita-Salute San Raffaele University
Founded in 1996 by Don Luigi Maria Verzé and integrated into the Gruppo San Donato healthcare network, Vita-Salute San Raffaele University (Università Vita-Salute San Raffaele — UniSR) is an elite, world-renowned boutique university located in Milan, Italy. Renowned internationally for its clinical and scientific excellence, UniSR uniquely integrates three fundamental disciplines: Medicine and Surgery, Psychology, and Philosophy. Operating side-by-side with IRCCS Ospedale San Raffaele—one of Europe’s leading biomedical research hospitals and a pioneer in gene and cell therapy (such as the landmark Strimvelis and Libmeldy breakthroughs developed at SR-TIGET)—UniSR offers students immediate immersion in cutting-edge clinical translational research from day one. Its flagship 6-year International MD Program, taught entirely in English, attracts top-tier global candidates from over 80 countries, alongside English-taught Master’s degrees in Biotechnology for Innovative Therapeutics, Cognitive Psychology in Health Communication (joint with USI Lugano), and Politics, Philosophy and Public Affairs. With an intimate student-to-faculty ratio, state-of-the-art DIBIT research towers, generous DSU Lombardia regional scholarships, institutional merit awards, and modern residential colleges at Milano 2, UniSR represents one of the premier destinations for biomedical and cognitive science education in Europe.
