About University of Verona
Established as an autonomous state university in 1982 with scholarly traditions tracing back to municipal Studia of the Middle Ages, the University of Verona (Università degli Studi di Verona — UniVR) is one of Italy’s most dynamic, forward-thinking, and research-intensive public universities. Situated in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Verona in the prosperous Veneto region, UniVR bridges humanistic heritage and cutting-edge technological innovation. The university is organized across specialized campus hubs: the historic Campus Veronetta centered around Palazzo Giuliari, Chiostro di San Francesco, and Polo Zanotto; the state-of-the-art Campus Borgo Roma (Ca' Vignal scientific complex and Policlinico hospital) leading in Artificial Intelligence, Computer Engineering, Medical Bioinformatics, and Translational Medicine; and the monumental Santa Marta campus—an award-winning converted 19th-century military bakery complex hosting Economics, Management, and Law—extending to the Vicenza business campus and the prestigious Villa Lebrecht wine estate in Valpolicella. Offering an extensive portfolio of fully English-taught Master’s degrees, affordable income-based tuition with generous No-Tax Area waivers and predictable flat-tax international options (~€1,000/yr), comprehensive ESU Verona regional grants up to €7,250 with free housing, and direct integration into northern Italy’s vibrant industrial and biotechnology cluster, UniVR provides a premier gateway for international scholars.
