About University of the Pacific
University of the Pacific (Pacific / UOP) is California’s first chartered university, founded on July 10, 1851. Renowned for its distinctive three-city footprint across Northern California (Stockton, Sacramento, and San Francisco), Pacific is celebrated nationally for its accelerated pre-professional pathways, the historic Conservatory of Music (the first on the West Coast), the Arthur A. Dugoni School of Dentistry (home to the only three-year DDS program in the United States), the McGeorge School of Law, and the Thomas J. Long School of Pharmacy. Situated on a picturesque 175-acre ivy-covered campus along the Calaveras River featuring the iconic Robert E. Burns Tower, Pacific combines intimate class sizes and dedicated faculty mentorship with top-tier professional schools and guaranteed cooperative education internships.
