About University of Regina
Founded in 1974 initially as Regina College in 1911, the University of Regina (U of R) is an internationally accredited comprehensive public research university in Regina, the capital city of Saskatchewan, Canada. Set amidst the picturesque 930-hectare parklands of Wascana Centre—one of North America’s largest urban parks—the university is celebrated as the pioneer of university-level co-operative education (co-op) in Western Canada, having launched the country’s first co-op placement program west of Ontario in 1969. With over 16,500 students from more than 100 countries, U of R houses 10 academic faculties, 25 specialized departments, and three federated colleges: Campion College, First Nations University of Canada, and Luther College. The institution is renowned for world-class research excellence in energy and environment (including pioneering carbon capture, utilization and storage at the Clean Energy Technologies Institute), health and well-being, artificial intelligence and data science, public policy at the Johnson Shoyama Graduate School, and social justice. Graduates are eligible for Canada's 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) and accelerated pathways to Permanent Residency through the Saskatchewan Immigrant Nominee Program (SINP).
