About University of Perugia
Founded in 1308 by Pope Clement V through the papal bull "Super Specula", the University of Perugia (Università degli Studi di Perugia — UNIPG) is one of the oldest, most celebrated public universities in Italy and Europe. Set against the medieval hilltops of Perugia in the heart of Umbria ("the green heart of Italy"), UNIPG combines more than seven centuries of academic distinction with state-of-the-art scientific and technological research across 14 academic departments. Celebrated historical alumni and scholars include jurist Bartolus de Saxoferrato, Baldus de Ubaldis, and Luca Pacioli (father of double-entry accounting). Today, UNIPG offers high-caliber international master degrees taught entirely in English in Civil Engineering (Structural Engineering), Materials Engineering and Sustainable Processes, Environmental Engineering for Sustainable Development, Agricultural and Environmental Biotechnology, Molecular and Industrial Biotechnology, Geology for Energy Resources (developed in collaboration with Eni energy group), and Quantitative Finance. With its affordable living costs, comprehensive ADISU Umbria regional scholarships, equitable income-based tuition (€150 to €2,200/yr), and vibrant international student community, UNIPG delivers an authentic, intellectually stimulating Italian academic journey.
