About University of Kent
The University of Kent is a prestigious public research university located in Kent, England, receiving its Royal Charter in 1965 as one of the UK’s renowned plate glass universities. Traditionally dubbed 'the UK's European university' due to its proximity to the European continent and historical international centers, Kent is organized around an iconic collegiate structure comprising Eliot, Rutherford, Keynes, and Darwin colleges. It is celebrated internationally for actuarial science (School of Mathematics, Statistics and Actuarial Science), critical jurisprudence and practical clinical education (Kent Law School), biodiversity conservation and ecology (Durrell Institute of Conservation and Ecology — DICE), psychology, cyber security (certified by the UK National Cyber Security Centre), and the creative arts. Perched upon 300 scenic acres of self-contained parkland overlooking Canterbury Cathedral and the medieval city centre, Kent also maintains a high-tech engineering, computing, and health sciences campus at Chatham Maritime in Medway.
