About University of Greenwich
The University of Greenwich is an historic British public university whose roots date back to 1890 as Woolwich Polytechnic, the second polytechnic established in the United Kingdom. Headquartered within the world-famous Old Royal Naval College on the south bank of the River Thames in Greenwich—a designated UNESCO World Heritage Site—the university blends centuries-old architectural grandeur designed by Sir Christopher Wren with cutting-edge academic facilities. Operating across three campuses—Greenwich Campus, Avery Hill Campus in Eltham, and Medway Campus at Chatham Maritime—the university comprises four academic faculties: Liberal Arts and Sciences; Business (Greenwich Business School); Education, Health and Human Sciences; and Engineering and Science. Renowned for its award-winning Stockwell Street architecture and digital media center, high graduate employability, and a globally celebrated alumni network (including Nobel Laureate Charles K. Kao, the father of fiber optics, and Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed), Greenwich delivers career-focused education to over 28,000 students from more than 140 nations.
