About Trinity College Dublin
Trinity College Dublin, the University of Dublin, founded in 1592 by royal charter from Queen Elizabeth I, is Ireland’s oldest, most prestigious, and highest-ranked university. Consistently ranked #87 in the world by QS World University Rankings 2025 and recognized as Ireland's leading research institution, Trinity is the only Irish member of the prestigious League of European Research Universities (LERU). Situated across a historic 47-acre campus in the cultural and economic heart of Dublin at College Green, Trinity has educated many of world history’s most influential thinkers, including Oscar Wilde, Samuel Beckett, Bram Stoker, Edmund Burke, Jonathan Swift, and Ernest Walton (Nobel laureate for splitting the atom). Today, Trinity educates over 19,000 students from more than 120 nations across three world-class faculties: Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM); Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences (including the triple-accredited Trinity Business School); and Health Sciences. The university is home to the world-famous Old Library and the 9th-century Book of Kells, attracting international scholars and researchers from across the globe.
