About Norwegian School of Economics
The Norwegian School of Economics (Norges Handelshøyskole – NHH) is Norway’s preeminent institution for higher education and research in economics, finance, and business administration. Founded in 1936 by royal initiative and officially opened by King Haakon VII, NHH is a specialized public university located on the scenic coastline of Sandviken in Bergen, overlooking Byfjorden. NHH holds the prestigious Triple Crown accreditation from EQUIS, AACSB, and AMBA—an honor achieved by fewer than 1% of business schools worldwide—and is Norway’s exclusive member institution in the CEMS Global Alliance in Management Education. With an enrollment of approximately 3,600 ambitious students and over 500 faculty and administrative staff, NHH educates Norway’s top corporate executives, economic policymakers, entrepreneurs, and scholarly researchers. NHH is famed for its flagship Master of Science in Economics and Business Administration, which awards the esteemed Norwegian professional title of Siviløkonom, as well as its English-taught Bachelor of Science in Business, Economics and Data Science, specialized Master in Business and Data Science, Master i regnskap og revisjon (MRR for certified public accountants), and an internationally renowned PhD programme featuring fully salaried state research fellowships. Students benefit from an exceptionally active student union (NHHS), vibrant corporate recruitment partnerships with top global financial institutions and management consulting firms, and guaranteed welfare support through Sammen.
