About Musashino University
Musashino University (武蔵野大学 - Musashino Daigaku) is a distinguished, centennial private comprehensive research university founded in 1924 by the world-renowned Buddhist scholar and Sanskritist Dr. Junjiro Takakusu. Grounded in the humanist philosophy of Buddhist ethics and universal enlightenment (originating from Jodo Shinshu), the university has developed into one of Japan's most forward-looking, innovative, and rapidly ascending higher education institutions. Musashino University operates across two vibrant campuses within Tokyo: the modern flagship Ariake Campus situated adjacent to Tokyo Bay in the futuristic Odaiba waterfront district, and the historic, green Musashino Campus located in Nishitokyo. Comprising 13 undergraduate faculties with 21 departments and 14 graduate schools, Musashino University is nationally celebrated as a pioneer in modern data intelligence, having established one of Japan's earliest and most prestigious dedicated Faculties of Data Science in 2019. For international students, Musashino University is famous for its flagship English-taught undergraduate degree—the Bachelor of Arts in Global Business (Department of Global Business, Ariake Campus), which integrates international commerce, modern marketing, cross-border management, and intensive multilingual competencies. In addition, the university's Graduate School of Data Science (MIDS) and Graduate School of Global Studies offer high-impact, English-friendly research environments. With generous multi-year financial aid packages, including the flagship Global Leader Scholarship (offering up to 100% full tuition and enhancement fee waivers for all four years) and subsidized Tokyo student dormitories, Musashino University provides an unmatched launchpad for global careers in Tokyo and worldwide.
