About Manukau Institute of Technology
Manukau Institute of Technology (MIT / Te Whare Takiura o Manukau) is one of New Zealand's largest and most established public institutes of technology, serving the Greater Auckland region since 1970. Operating in strategic partnership alongside Unitec Institute of Technology across Tāmaki Makaurau, MIT is rated as a Category 1 Tertiary Education Organisation by the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA). MIT delivers applied, industry-endorsed qualifications spanning certificates, diplomas, Bachelor's degrees, and postgraduate specializations across engineering trades, digital technologies, clinical nursing, early childhood teacher education, and maritime logistics. MIT is celebrated nationwide for MIT TechPark (a 15,000 m² purpose-built engineering, construction, and automotive technology complex), high-fidelity clinical healthcare simulation wards, and the historic New Zealand Maritime School located on the Auckland Central waterfront.
