About Leeds Trinity University
Leeds Trinity University is a public teaching-focused university situated in Horsforth, near Leeds, West Yorkshire, with a major city-centre campus in downtown Leeds at 1 Trevelyan Square. Founded in 1966 as two Catholic teacher training colleges—Trinity College for women and All Saints College for men—the institutions amalgamated in 1980 as Trinity and All Saints College (TASC), attained taught-degree awarding powers in 2009, and achieved full university title in 2012. Welcoming students of all faiths and backgrounds, Leeds Trinity is affiliated with the Cathedrals Group, MillionPlus, and Universities UK. The institution made historic leadership history when Professor Charles Egbu was appointed Vice-Chancellor, becoming the first Black person appointed Vice-Chancellor of a UK university, alongside Chancellor John Studzinski CBE. Leeds Trinity is distinguished as an educational pioneer for embedding compulsory, credit-bearing professional work placements across every undergraduate degree, alongside celebrated strengths in broadcast and sports journalism via its BJTC- and NCTJ-accredited Centre for Journalism, Primary Initial Teacher Training (ITT), forensic psychology, criminology, and business computing.
