About Kristiania University College
Kristiania University College (Høyskolen Kristiania / Kristiania University of Applied Sciences) is Norway's largest independent, non-profit specialized university college, educating over 18,000 students across vibrant campuses in Oslo and Bergen. Founded in 1914 by pioneering educator Ernst G. Mortensen as Norsk Korrespondanseskole (NKS), the institution has evolved through strategic integrations with prestigious creative and technical academies, including Westerdals School of Communication and Technology and Norges Informasjonsteknologiske Høgskole (NITH). Governed as an independent educational foundation (Stiftelsen Høyskolen Kristiania), all institutional surplus is reinvested directly into academic quality, world-class facilities, and applied scientific research. Kristiania is organized into four prominent academic schools: the School of Arts, Design, and Media; the School of Economics, Innovation, and Technology; the School of Communication, Leadership, and Marketing; and the School of Health Sciences. With internationally accredited doctoral programmes, state-of-the-art production studios, close industry ties with Nordic corporations, and full eligibility for Statens Lånekasse educational support, Kristiania stands as a beacon of creative entrepreneurship, applied computing, and practical scholarship in Scandinavia.
