About Gimcheon University

Gimcheon University (김천대학교) is a private, four-year Christian university located in Gimcheon, Gyeongsangbuk-do, South Korea. Tracing its history to 1978 when it was founded as Gimcheon Junior College by Dr. Kang Shin-kyung under Wonseok Academy, the institution transitioned to a comprehensive four-year university in 2010. Gimcheon University is best known across South Korea as a specialized center for healthcare, clinical sciences, and medical technologist education—including nationally accredited programs in nursing, physical therapy, dental hygiene, radiological technology, clinical laboratory science, and dental laboratory technology—consistently achieving top national board examination pass rates alongside leading public safety disciplines such as police administration and fire protection. Situated on a scenic hillside campus at the base of Mount Hwangaksan in central South Korea (accessible via Gimcheon Station and Gimcheon-Gumi KTX Station, roughly 1 hour and 15 minutes from Seoul and 20 minutes from Daegu), the university boasts dedicated clinical and dental simulation laboratories, practical culinary demonstration kitchens, indoor sports complexes, and modern student dormitories housing more than 1,300 students. Gimcheon University provides extensive international support including generous TOPIK tuition waivers up to 100%, an affiliated Korean Language Education Center, and direct clinical hospital placement networks across regional medical centers.
