About Estonian School of Diplomacy
The Estonian School of Diplomacy (ESD; Estonian: Eesti Diplomaatide Kool - EDK), founded in 1990 in Tallinn, is a premier postgraduate educational and diplomatic training institution in the Baltic and Nordic regions. Created during the restoration of the Republic of Estonia to train the newly recreated diplomatic corps for the Estonian Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), ESD has since evolved into an internationally acclaimed diplomatic academy. Over the past three decades, ESD has trained more than 800 foreign service officers, ambassadors, government ministers, and civil servants across the European Union, Eastern Partnership (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Moldova, Ukraine), Western Balkans, Central Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Operating in close institutional cooperation with the Estonian MFA, the Estonian Centre for International Development (ESTDEV), and prominent diplomatic institutes worldwide such as Clingendael Institute (Netherlands), ESD delivers rigorous, practical, and interdisciplinary education in international relations, diplomatic practice, cyber diplomacy, European integration, and public administration reform.
