About Dalhousie University
Founded in 1818 by the ninth Earl of Dalhousie and located in the vibrant coastal metropolis of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Dalhousie University is one of Canada’s oldest, most distinguished, and research-intensive universities. As the sole Atlantic Canadian member of the prestigious U15 Group of Canadian Research Universities, Dalhousie attracts over CAD $210 million in annual research funding, driving groundbreaking discoveries across oceans, clean energy, clean water, medical genomics, artificial intelligence, and sustainable food systems. The university accommodates over 21,000 students from more than 115 countries across thirteen faculties spanning three historic Halifax campuses (Studley, Carleton, and Sexton) and a dedicated 1,000-acre Agricultural Campus in Truro. Celebrated for iconic landmarks like the Henry Hicks Building and modern research powerhouses like the Life Sciences Research Institute and Goldberg Computer Science Building, Dalhousie combines world-class academic rigor with Atlantic Canada's celebrated ocean lifestyle, providing international graduates clear immigration advantages through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and Nova Scotia Provincial Nominee Program (NSNP).
