About Ansgar University College

Ansgar University College (Ansgar høyskole / AHS), established in 1913, is an accredited Norwegian specialized university college (vitenskapelig høyskole) located in the coastal city of Kristiansand in southern Norway. Fully accredited by NOKUT (the Norwegian Agency for Quality Assurance in Education) and an institutional member of Universities Norway (UHR), Ansgar høyskole delivers rigorous, practice-oriented bachelor degrees, master programs, and one-year study programs (årsstudium) across four key disciplinary areas: Psychology, Music & Music Production, Theology & Biblical Studies, and Intercultural Relations & Milieu Therapy. Owned by Misjonskirken Norge (the Mission Covenant Church of Norway) and operated on an open, inclusive, and values-driven foundation, the institution is situated on a scenic 10-hectare peninsula at Fredrik Fransons vei overlooking the tranquil Topdalsfjorden. With a student body of around 400 to 500 students and intimate class cohorts, Ansgar offers an exceptionally close-knit academic community where students collaborate directly with experienced researchers, psychologists, musicians, music producers, and theologians. Facilities include high-end digital audio workstations (Pro Tools / Logic Pro production studios), Ansgarkapellet auditorium and concert hall, an extensive academic library, outdoor terrace, on-campus student housing (Studenthjemmet), and all-weather athletic grounds. Programs are approved for full funding and grants through the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund (Lånekassen), and the college actively participates in the European Union Erasmus+ mobility framework for international student exchanges.
