About Acadia University
Established in 1838 in the picturesque town of Wolfville in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley, Acadia University is one of Canada's oldest, most prestigious, and highest-ranked primarily undergraduate liberal arts and science research universities. A founding member of the prestigious Maple League of Universities (alongside Mount Allison, St. Francis Xavier, and Bishop's), Acadia is internationally renowned for its intimate academic community, where a 14:1 student-to-faculty ratio and an average class size of just 28 students allow undergraduates to engage in pioneering laboratory research typically reserved for graduate students elsewhere. Operating across four academic faculties—Arts, Pure and Applied Science, Professional Studies, and Theology—Acadia was the first university in North America to pioneer the ubiquitous laptop learning environment through the award-winning Acadia Advantage. Acadia graduates enjoy world-class employment outcomes, eligibility for Canada's 3-year Post-Graduation Work Permit (PGWP), and accelerated pathways to Canadian Permanent Residency through the Atlantic Immigration Program (AIP) and Nova Scotia Nominee Program (NSNP).
