Academy of Art University (ARTU) is an acclaimed private art and design university founded in 1929 by painter Richard S. Stephens in San Francisco, California. Operating an urban campus integrated into the cultural and technological heart of San Francisco, the Academy spans historic and state-of-the-art facilities across New Montgomery Street (SoMa Arts Hub), Sutter Street (Nob Hill Photography & Fine Arts Hub), and The Cannery at Fisherman’s Wharf.
