Overview

Not only is the English Philology  course from Klaipeda University  based on common linguistic studies in English, but also on practically applied English Philology studies, and aims to prepare competent specialists in linguistics, who shall be able to apply linguistic knowledge and communicative competences in a creative manner when interacting in two foreign languages. 

The aim of the English Philology course from Klaipeda University is to train specialists proficient in linguistics, provide them with fundamental linguistic knowledge, high-level communicative competences in English Philology relevant on the labour market. Future-specialists shall be able to analyse and study the following languages in an intercultural range, shall gain the basics of translation and be capable of applying their knowledge when communicating and collaborating with people in two foreign languages.

Intended learning outcomes of the following study programme correspond to the areas of occupational activities, according to which trained specialists shall be able to: Pursue a career in the Klaipėda City Municipality; Klaipėda Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Crafts; local, international insurance companies; Klaipėda city and regional tourist information centres; cultural, educational information centres; Lithuanian sea shipping and other marine organizations; translation departments of city and regional newspaper offices Klaipėda, Vakarų ekspresas, magazine Jūra, and other city or regional institutions and bodies;
