Overview

This is one of the Faculty’s longest-standing study programmes, and one that has evolved continuously over the decades as scientific knowledge is accumulated and environment-friendly technologies are gaining ground. The main aims of the programme are: to train professionals who will be able to plan, supervise and organise industrial-scale production processes; to manage tasks related to the preparation, distribution and storage of products; to undertake specialised managerial core tasks in the horticultural domain; and to set up independent horticultural farms and operate them efficiently. This bachelor’s programme is recommended to those who would like to participate in a high-quality, up-to-date higher education programme dealing with the new perspective production areas of the agricultural sector, you are keen to broaden your knowledge in the fields of natural and agricultural sciences, you are interested in agricultural production, crop and livestock farming and rural culture, you are interested in how to implement organic farming and sustainable, environmentally friendly agricultural production, learn how to improve the activities and profitability of agricultural enterprises in your area.

• Check if you really need a student visa.
  Since you’re from Bangladesh and planning full-time academic study in Hungary, yes, you’ll definitely need a student visa — specifically a long-term (D-type) visa for study purposes.

• Start exploring the official Hungarian authorities.
  For Bangladeshi applicants, the Embassy of Hungary in Dhaka handles student visas. That’s where all the latest and most reliable information lives. Bookmark it, read it, reread it.

• Check the deadlines.
  Visa processing can take several weeks — sometimes more than a month. Don’t leave it to the last minute. A small delay might mean missing the start of your semester, and that’s not the plot twist you want.

• Go on a paperwork treasure hunt.
  Passport?
  Letter of Acceptance from your Hungarian university?
  Visa application form, proof of accommodation, financial evidence, health insurance, passport-sized photos, academic certificates, police clearance, maybe even a medical test… yep, the list is long. And yes, you’ll need every single piece.

• Start saving up.
  You’ll need to show that you can financially support yourself while studying in Hungary. That means covering tuition fees, living costs, travel expenses, and visa-related charges. Every forint counts — especially if you’re planning weekend trips around Europe.

• Boost your English or Hungarian skills.
  Many programs in Hungary are taught in English, so if you’ve taken IELTS, TOEFL, or another test, that’s great. Still, it never hurts to keep improving. And hey, picking up a bit of Hungarian can make your new life even more exciting (and a lot easier at the grocery store).
